The types of O-Rings sold by LanHe Seals:
Nitrile (NBR) O-rings are the cheapest and most oil resistant sealing material for a variety of O-ring applications. Buna-N compounds perform well in power steering fluids, hexane, toluene, gasoline, crude oil, water-based hydraulic fluids, and sodium hydroxide.
EPDM O-rings have food grade standards, including FDA CFR 21 177.2600, 3A,LFGB,EU1935:2004/EC, GB4806.11-2016, are often used in the food, water industry and bathroom steam applications, and have the best ozone resistance and weather resistance. However, it cannot be used with oil or fuel because it will cause the seal to fail after expansion.
Silicone (VMQ) O-rings are ideal for both low and high temperature resistance (temperature range: -50°C~ to +230°C). They have high thermal and oxidative stability and are resistant to many chemicals. It is commonly used to make seals in contact with food.
Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR)O-Rings with excellent mechanical properties, especially abrasion resistance, with excellent corrosion resistance, tensile resistance, tear resistance and compression deformation characteristics, it is made of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) hydrogenated, often used in automotive engine system seals air conditioning refrigeration system seals.
Neoprene Rubber (CR) O-Rings with excellent aging resistance, ozone resistance, heat resistance, good mechanical properties, with unnatural characteristics, electrical insulation is not good, often used to make rubber hose, rubber plate, gasket, but also used to make R12 refrigerant seals, suitable for making contact with the atmosphere, sunlight, ozone seals.
FLUOROCARBON (FKM)O-Rings have good resistance to various chemicals and corrosion resistance. With excellent high temperature resistance, and it also has excellent aging resistance, the temperature can reach us to 230°C ,Due to its chemical stability and excellent corrosion resistance, fluororubbers are commonly used in the manufacture of products such as seals and pipes. Fluorine rubber can also resist the corrosion of most organic and inorganic chemicals, so it is also widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other fields
Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM)O-Rings offer an excellent range of high temperature resistance, excellent chemical compatibility, and the lowest exhaust emissions and extractable levels.The price is very expensive and is often used in the special chemical industry.
FLUOROSILICONE O-Rings (FVMQ&FLS) is a silicone rubber by fluoride treatment, its general properties and has the advantages of FLUOROCARBON rubber(FKM) and silicone rubber (VMQ). It has good oil resistance, solvent resistance, fuel oil resistance and high and low temperature resistance. The price is relatively expensive, and it is often used for sealing in aviation, space, medical and other industries. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)O-Rings have a balanced performance in a variety of chemicals, solvents and adhesive resistance, as well as in extreme high-temperature environments. They have special tensile and compressive properties and low coefficient of friction. Polytetrafluoroethylene O-rings can be used continuously at 250°C(482°F) and the temperature range of polytetrafluoroethylene O-rings is -200°C to 250°C(-328°F to 482°F).
Styrene Butadiene Rubber(SBR)O-Rings Low cost non-oil resistant material, good water resistance, can use most of the neutral chemicals and dry several ketones, widely used in tires, hose, wire and cable rubber products
Polyacrylate Rubber (ACM)O-Rings It is suitable for automobile rotation oil, has good oxidation resistance and weather resistance, and has the function of anti-bending deformation. It is weak in mechanical strength, compression deformation and water resistance, and is often used in automotive rotation systems and power system seals.
Natural Rubber (polyisoprene) O-Rings A highly elastic solid made from the latex of the plant rubber tree after processing, with excellent physical and mechanical properties, elasticity and workability, poor temperature resistance, suitable for the production of shock absorbing parts and seals used in automotive brake oil
